FTP allows you to upload and manage files on your hosting account using a desktop application.
1. Download an FTP Client
We recommend WinSCP, a free and powerful FTP client for Windows.
It is easy to use, secure, and supports drag-and-drop file transfers.
For Mac & Linux, or even Windows again, we recommend FileZilla. Although for Windows WinSCP comes out as top for us. You can find a more detailed guide for using WINSCP from their website: https://winscp.net/eng/docs/guides
2. Get Your FTP Details
You can find your FTP login details in cPanel under FTP Accounts.
You will need:
- Hostname (your domain or server IP, found in your welcome email)
- Username
- Password
- Port (21 for FTP or 22 for SFTP)
3. Connect to Your Server
Open WinSCP and enter your FTP details, then click Login.
4. Upload Files
Drag and drop your files into the public_html directory.
5. Verify Upload
Once uploaded, visit your domain to confirm your website is loading correctly.
Need Help?
If you cannot connect, double-check your login details and ensure your firewall is not blocking the connection.
